Stampin' Up! Magical Day - quick & simple

Hello, here are the details for our first project this week using Magical Day.

The Magician is this set is lovely to stamp and there is a matching die too so, no fussy cutting!  We used the Stampin' Blends to colour him in.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Magical Day, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used  the 1/2" circle punch and some of the Myths & Magic Glimmer paper to create a crystal ball.  I stamped some stars above but it was only when I came to edit this photo that I realised they weren't straight!

I love the sentiments in this set but particularly like the fonts that have been used.  Note to self - practice copying this style of writing.  There is a die that cuts a banner shape in this bundle but I used the Tripple Banner punch instead - I wanted wonky ends!

The addition of some of the Myths & Magic Speciality Washi Tape behind the sentiment adds some extra sparkle.

We also used the Washi Tape on the inside of the card and the envelope.

Personally, I think the stars look much better when they are straight don't you?

Here is is the completed card and envelope.

All my crafty ladies loved this Magician this morning, colouring is so relaxing.  There are two further C & C sessions this week if you would like to join me to make this project and another with a Mermaid - you can find the details here,

I made an alternative version of this card this afternoon too - one of my regular crafty ladies needed a couple of cards for special birthday.  We coloured the Magician with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends and he looked amazing.  I can't show the completed card but here is a sneaky peak.

Stampin' Up! Magical Day for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week at Coffee & Cards we will be using a fabulous bundle called Magical Day - there will be Magicians, Mermaids and sparkle!!

We will be stamping, die cutting and colouring this week and we will definitely be using some Wink of Stella!  I found some silver sparkly netting in my crafty stash that seemed just the perfect accompaniment to the little mermaid.

Here are the projects we will making - this week I particularly like the inside of the mermaid card which was the result of a 'happy accident' (more of that later)!

Stampin' Up! Magical Day - SBTD 1/2018

Hello and welcome to another Stampers by the Dozen Blog Hop!  Thanks for hopping along with us - we would love you to leave a comment to let us know what you think of our projects ...

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

Our theme this month is is anything new - from the either the Spring / Summer Catalogue of the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.

My biggest decision was what to use - so many gorgeous new products and so little time (as always)!

It took me ages before I decided to use the Magical Day bundle and the fabulous Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies.  So long in fact that I only started my projects yesterday - it was a good job I had lots of ideas whizzing around my head!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

I started by making a rainbow - not too difficult but then I am a Libran; it took me ages to decide which colours to use!  Eventually I settled on card from the Brights Collection and got to work.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

Once I had cut all my sections I needed to figure out a way to stick them together.  I decided it would be best to stick them together on the reverse.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

I pushed a ruler against the ends so that I could line them up neatly.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

I then used Tear & Tape on the reverse to hold all the pieces together - not very pretty but you can't see the tape from the front!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

If you are a follower of my blog you will probably know that I have a bit of a thing for 'white' cards.

This project is no exception - I know exactly who I will be sending this card to and that they also like cards with lots of white space too so, all is good!

I used Basic Grey Archival Ink to stamp my unicorn as I felt black ink would be too harsh for this project.

This shape would be fairly easy to fussy cut but there is no need as there is a matching die that does a great job in a fraction of the time.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

I used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour the mane and the tail with the same colours as the card I used for the rainbow - love a bit of easy coordination don't you?

Of course I had to use my Wink of Stella to add some sparkle - and for once, I have managed to get a half decent photograph showing the sparkly loveliness.

I initially cut out a cloud with some glimmer paper but decided that it was not quite right and used thick Whisper White instead.  Can you see how one of the clouds fits perfectly into the bottom of the rainbow?  I don't know if this is how you are supposed to line the two pieces up - it could be a happy accident but, knowing SU there is a strong possibility that some clever person really thought about this for us already!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

I used one of the sentiments from the Magical Day stamp set on the inside, adding some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

Of course the envelope received some attention too ...

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

For the card front I cut a thick WW panel 5 mm smaller than the card base and used Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension to all the different layers.  The sentiment is from a stamp set called You're Priceless.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

Here is the completed card and envelope - I have to say I am quite pleased with how it turned out - a very 'me' card and I will be making more of these very soon!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

When I am working on a project I never make just one of anything - as a result I had some spare unicorns and a rainbow left over.  If you come back in a day or so you will see what I made for myself with the extra pieces - here is a sneaky peek!  The brush lettering workshop I did at the beginning of January is proving very useful!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydah!, SBTD Blog Hop, Magical Day, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Rainbow Builder Framelits,

Thanks for looking at my blog today and joining our first hop of 2018 - don't forget to leave a comment below and on other blogs as you hop around!  We will be back next month with lots more inspiration for you.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Next on the hop is Tricia who I'm sure has something fabulous to share with you too.

Happy crafting!

Stampin' Up! Third Anniversary 19th January

Hello, just a quick post from me today as I am still on a mission to tidy up my craft room at the moment.  After a quick look back at my 2nd Anniversary post, nothing has changed, my craft room is still a work in progress!

I can't believe how quickly the last three years have flown by since I decided to join Stampin' Up!

Some of you may know that I initially signed up for the discounts  but then I quickly realised that I wanted to share my passion for crafting with others.

I still chat regularly to a lovely lady called Michelle who is a SU Demonstrator in Germany.  We chat fairly regularly online to share tips etc and it was lovely to finally meet last year.

I held my popular catalogue launch party and BOGOF sale in June - (lots of you took advantage of the special offers available) and a Christmas Project Day in November which was great fun.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend On Stage 2017 in Birmingham and I was amazed to discover that I was to be recognised for my achievements during the last SU year.

One of the highlights of 2017 was being asked to do weekly craft sessions at a local care home.  The sessions are so rewarding and it has been lovely seeing the ladies who craft with me each week grow in confidence and take such pleasure from their creations.

This is Zena - each week she waits in Reception (with a coffee) after breakfast until I arrive.  She is becoming quite an accomplished crafter!

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! Third Anniversary, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

There have been a few changes this year to the format of my Coffee & Card sessions which seem to have been well received.  I have had lots of lovely new crafters join me recently too!

I have a small but growing team of seven lovely ladies (Bev, Annie, Sue, Wendy, Rosie, Karen and Lesley) who have decided to join Stampin' Up! with me - together they are called the ducklings!  Karen and Lesley joined us this month joining during Sale-a-Bration; it is truly the best time of the year to join.  For just £99 you can choose items to the value of £130 (with free delivery) and during SAB you can also choose any two additional stamp sets for free too! If you are interested in joining us do please get in touch.  Alternatively, you can find further details here.

As a way of saying thank you - everyone who places an order with me or attends a workshop in January will receive a raffle ticket with their thank you cards.  I will draw a winner at the beginning of February - the lucky winner will win this lovely stamp set - Fruit Basket.

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette - stepped up!

Hello, here are the details for the second C & C project this week using Petal Palette.

The bold and vibrant colours we have used this week have proved very popular.  Several of my crafty ladies initially were not too keen on the combo but very quickly changed their minds.  Sometimes it is good to move out of your own comfort zone!  Everyone agreed that this card would be suitable for lots of occasions and, perhaps even Mother's Day too ...

The images in the Petal Palette stamp set make it easy to create cards in an artistic style, perfect for a spot of colouring with the Stampin' Blends too.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

As there is a choice of two embossing folders with the Petal Pair TIEF everyone had a choice to make this week.  The most popular folder was the one above - not sure what they are; perhaps branches?  If you know, leave a comment below to let me know please.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I recently 'found' the Lots of Labels Framelits which had fallen down the back of my desk - this might just explain why I haven't used them very much!  They were the perfect addition to this card - I used the second largest framelit.

The addition of a die cut border motif behind the flowers brought everything together.  We decided this afternoon that the die cut looked Moroccan in style.

Here is the completed card and envelope.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I also took my Watercolour pencils with me this afternoon - we used them to colour the flowers on the envelope and on the insert to create a softer look.  One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is the colour coordination - we were able to use the same colours in the Stampin' Blends and the watercolour pencils; brilliant!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week for a crafty coffee.  Next week for Coffee & Cards we will be using the Magical Day Bundle; be warned there will be lots of sparkle!

I will be taking part in the next Stampers by the Dozen Blog Hop at the weekend where I will also be showcasing this bundle!

I am busy prepping for my first Crafternoon Tea Event of 2018 on Saturday - very much looking forward to some relaxed crafty fun with a lovely group of ladies.

Thanks for looking at my blog today - details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Hope you have a crafty weekend too!

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette - Quick & Simple

Hello, here are the details for the first project this week using Petal Palette.

I chose a fresh and simple colour combination of Lemon Lime Twist and Rich Razzleberry this week.

We started by deciding which of the two embossing folders to use for our embossed panels.   At the moment there is no clear favourite ...

Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7,

We used the Petals and More Thinlits dies to cut out the white leafy sprig.  Several of my crafty ladies snipped stems off and rearranged them which looked lovely.

After cutting a Stitched Shape Framelits circle, we stamped one of the images with Black Memento ink and coloured using the Stampin' Blends.  The Stampin' Blends make it so easy to add colour to stamped images - they almost like they have been printed!

Stampin Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7,

Here is the completed card and envelope.  I added a sentiment across the bottom - there are some really useful sentiments in the Petal Palette stamp set.

Details of the products I used can be found below.  I will be post details of the another project using Petal Palette later this week so come back soon so you don't miss anything!

Now that my daughter has be released from hospital and is back home, things will hopefully get back to normal.  She is not enjoying being ill and the crutches are already starting to annoy her!  I am wondering how long it will be before she gets bored ...

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette for Coffee & Cards

Hello, this week for Coffee & Cards we will be using a lovely stamp set called Petal Palette.

We used this particular bundle for a C & C session just before Christmas and it was really popular.  Last week one of my crafty ladies asked if we could do some embossing and the lovely Petal Pair folders have been sitting on my desk waiting to be used so we will be using both of them.

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Craftyduckydoodah!, Petal Palette, January 2018 Coffee & Cards project, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

We will also be stamping, die cutting and doing a spot of colouring with the Stampin' Blends.

Time:    2:00 - 4:00 pm
Cost:     £6.00 - includes all materials and tuition to make 2 projects.

Thursday - both projects
Venue:   The Grand Piano Cafe Bar, Godmanchester

I have brought some bits and pieces along with me so that I can keep myself occupied.  This was much to the amusement of my daughter when we were loading the car up yesterday but she soon changed her mind.  We were troubled last night by a very bright blue light on the tv in our hotel room - of course I had a scrap of card and some washi tape in my box.  The light was was very soon history and Rosie scoffed no more!

Hope you can join me for some crafty fun very soon, have a crafty weekend.
